Ohio added more than 20,000 jobs in October as the state's unemployment rate fell to 5.1% from a revised 5.3% in September, according to data released Friday, Nov. 19, by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.
Ohio continues to have a higher unemployment rate than the country as a whole. The U.S. unemployment rate for October was 4.6%, down from 4.8% in September, and down from 6.9% in October 2020.
